Hello Gainesville Area Dancers and Friends,

This Sunday August 30, the Fifth Sunday in August, come out for a
dance party. There will be a short class starting at 6:30 followed
by dancing. There will be a variety of mostly slower music suitable
for all types of swing and other social dances including a little
cha cha, hustle, salsa and waltz.

Monday September 14 is shaping up to be a one-night session of
Israeli Partner Dancing. Probably be in the early evening near
Millhopper Shopping Center at someone's home. Will be real easy,
casual, suitable for new dancers. Let me know if you would like
to attend.

Free Clogging Lessons for beginners. 3-week class with
internationally known clogging instructor Kelli McChesney,
begins September 13 on Sundays from 4 to 4:45 at Carpenter's
Union, 1910 NW 53rd Avenue, Gainesville.

If you run a dance group, you are invited to bring flyers and make an announcement about your programs.

090826 Israeli Partner Dancing, Fifth Sunday in August Party

Hello Gainesville Area Israeli Dancers and Friends,

Israeli Partner Dancing is starting to take shape.
Looks like we may try a one-night only event, meeting
at someone's house for an hour or two, just to have
some fun. Let me know if a Monday night, say from
7:30 to 9:00 would be good for you, or if something
else would be better. This is going to be real simple,
for all levels, and no partner needed. If you have a
spouse who does not dance, this would be perfect.

Join us this Sunday August 30 for a fun evening of cool music
and dancing. This is the Fifth Sunday in August, which only
happens once every two or three years. There will be a mix
of mostly slower music. Everyone is welcome. There will be
a short lesson followed by a couple of hours of dancing.

Free Klogging lessons - try some authentic American folk dancing.
Take advantage of these rare, free classes with internationally
recognized clogging teacher Kelli McChesney. The three-week session

090819 Israeli Dancing, Saturday in Ocala, dance party August 30

Hello Gainesville Area Israeli Dancers and Friends,

Israeli Dancing starts again this week at B'nai Israel.

Come out for a dance party on August 30, the Fifth Sunday
in August, which only happens every two to three years.
The music will be on the slower side suitable for swing
or doing your own thing. Everyone is welcome.

This Saturday night, August 22, if you are in the neighborhood,
stop by Temple Beth Shalom and help me lead dancing for the Klezmer
band Chutzpah. When you get there tell them you are with the band
and helping out with the dancing. The Temple is at 1109 NE 8 Avenue
in Ocala. The band plays two sets from 7:00-7:40 and 8:00-8:45.
The dance set is from 9:00-10:00. Come early and enjoy the band.

090805 Israeli Partner Dancing, West Coast Swing

Hello Gainesville Area Israeli Dancers and Friends,

Is anyone interested Israeli Partner Dancing? I am considering
doing something, but do not know what yet. Let me know if you
have any interest.

No Israeli Dancing this week at B'nai Israel.

Get in some Israeli Dancing with the International Folk Dancers
this Friday. There is no International Folk Dancnig on Friday August 14.

Come out Sunday night for West Coast Swing.
Class starts at 6:30 for everyone. We are planning
to have a short class for about an hour and then dancing.

About 60 people from South Florida, Jacksonville, Orlando,
Gainesville, Atlanta, Tampa and other parts met in Alachua
last weekend to canoe the Santa Fe River and go tubing on
the Itchnetucknee with Mosaic Jewish Outdoor Club. It was
a great chance to meet other people and have a little adventure.

Dear Senator Nelson,

Wanted you to know that wilderness and wildlife restoration is one of my primary voting issues.

I urge you to protects and restores our natural world and fight human caused climate change, species extinction and damage to our
eco systems.

We have enough people in Florida (and the world for that matter). We do not need any more growth in Florida. We do not need to pave
over any more of our state or destroy any more wetland or marine habitats. We do not need drilling off our coasts. Short term
benefits for a few people do not justify the destruction of our natural world, over crowding, water shortages and all the other
negatives that come with over development.

There is plenty to do in Florida. We need a conversion to renewable, green energy sources. We need a restoration of our natural
environment.

We can improve the quality of life in Florida for the people of Florida by turning our state back into the natural garden it was and
should be.
