Hello Gainesville Ocala Social Dancers,
This is a big weekend for dancing and a new month coming up with some new dance sessions and change of venues.
Tonight, Friday September 29, Kay teaches American Tango at 308 West from 6 to 7 pm. There will be a three week break and her next class will be October 26.
UF Tango for the Cure Weekend starts tonight at 8 pm with a class and dancing. Tomorrow Saturday there is a Tango workshop from 5 to 8 pm and then dancing, performances, raffle and refreshments until 2 am. On Sunday there is a brunch and dancing from 11 am to 3 pm. Proceeds benefit the American Society. All at 308 West. All levels, including beginners and new comers encouraged to attend.
After Tango tonight, Friday, stay for a Salsa and Latin dance social with Josbell.
This Saturday starts a new session Shake Your Soul the Yoga of Dance with Erin Lang from 3 to 4 pm at 308 West. In October this program will be from 4 to 5 pm.
Come out on Sunday evening for Swing and Hustle at 308 West. Swing is from 6 to 8:15 pm, followed by Hustle until 9:30. Beginners invited and should come at 6 for Swing. Experienced Swing dancers can come at 6 as well to get in more dancing. You can come just for Hustle if you like. Free for All U Can Dance members. Israeli Dancing is meeting on Monday at the usual time 7 to 9 pm at 308 West. Only $5, free for All U Can Dance members.
Argentine Tango 101 with Nick at 308 West is from 6 to 7:30 pm on Tuesday. Only $5, free for All U Can Dance members.
Tuesdays Richard teaches East Coast Swing at the Boltin Center, Ray and Eileen teach Ballroom Dancing at 308 West and David and Thuy teach Tango at a private home downtown. Go to Nick's Tango 101 first and one of these second for a full evening of dancing.
Judi is teaching Night Club 2 Step this month for Wednesday's early class at 7 pm at 308 West. This a useful dance you can use to dance to slow music.
On Wednesday night, in the small room at 308 West is Argentine Tango practice from 7:30 to 9. Only $5, free for All U Can Dance members.
Thursdays in October Senior Line Dancing with Andy moves to 308 West, same time 11 am to noon. Only $5, free for All U Can Dance members.
On Thursdays in October Ray and Eileen are teaching Country Two Step at By Ear Musician. Country Two Step, aka Texas Two Step is kind of like the Foxtrot to Country music. This is a fun dance you use to travel around the dance floor. Josh plays at least a couple of two steps at his West Coast Swing dances, so you will have a chance to put this dance into practice regularly.
On Thursday evenings in October at 308 West you have your choice of two dances. In the big room at 308 West, we will have open dancing from 8 pm to 10 pm. The music will be suitable for West Coast Swing, Hustle and we will take requests. Only $5, free for All U Can Dance members. Diane teaches Salsa for beginners at 8 pm and experienced dancers at 9 pm in the small room. Only $5 and you can join in the big room before or after at no charge.
