Help Save Polar Bears
Climate change could drive Alaska's polar bears to extinction within 75 years, according to a recent White House report.
Last Friday, your representative voted against the American Clean Energy and Security Act. Please take a moment to voice your
disappointment.

Rep. Cliff Stearns - (202) 225-5744 or (352) 351-8777 - https://writerep.house.gov/writerep/welcome.shtml
Even though this landmark legislation has been passed by the House, our fight is far from finished.
For the moment, though, please take just a moment right now to hold your representative accountable for failing to stand up for our
polar bears and other wildlife by voting against the American Clean Energy and Security Act.
On behalf of all of us at Defenders of Wildlife, thank you for all the work you do to protect our wildlife. We couldn't be a voice
for threatened and endangered species without your help.
With Gratitude,
Robert Dewey

Dear Honorable Cliff Stearns,
Thank you for representing me and other people from Gainesville in Congress. As my representative, I wanted to make you aware of my
views.
Protecting the environment is of the utmost importance to me and a voting issue.
Please support bills like the American Clean Energy and Security Act.
Whatever you do to protect the environment has my support, the more the better. Please help stop the destruction of our environment,
species extinction and climate change.
Please stop the the further population growth in Florida, paving over of what is left of Florida, and especially the further ruining
of our wetlands, waterways and beaches.
I am against any further development in Florida except in urban centers. We have too many people in Florida already. Development in
Florida hurts the vast majority of Floridians. Florida does not need more people. Our quality of life and our wildlife goes down
with each new person and each new bit of concrete.
There are plenty of ways for Floridians to support ourselves. We do not need growth. We need the opposite, a shrinking population
and a reclamation of the natural environment.
Economies that depend on growth are backward economies. Future economies are going to depend on quality of service.
I am against drilling in the Gulf. Please do whatever you can to prevent it. Oil is an old world technology and a destructive one.
The sooner we invest in renewable, clean energy, the better we will be. Florida has all the natural energy it needs from sun and
other natural energy sources. We need to invest in ways to harness those energy sources, not in destroying our coasts to drill for
oil.
Imagine a self-sufficient Florida providing ourselves with all the sustainable, self-sufficient, environmentally friendly energy we
need and with a self-sufficient economy, not dependent on constant growth. Florida could be the paradise it should be, with people
providing services for one another and with wild beaches, oceans, lakes and rivers overflowing with wildlife.
Please support efforts to save what is left of Florida and the world that is not developed.
Thank you,
Andrew Weitzen
