Hello Gainesville Ocala Israeli and Folk Dancers,
We are having Israeli dancing tonight Tuesday, March 27 from 7:30 to 9:30.
This weekend is the Gainesville Dance Festival at 308 West, starting Friday night with Tango.
Saturday is a day of social dancing starting at 2 with English Country, Waltz, Zydeco, West Coast Swing and Blues. This is going to be a fantastic day of social dancing.
Sunday starts at noon with Brazilian Capoeira, Zumba and then Samba from 2 to 3 pm. Samba will be a special workshop with guest Nilcemar Nogueira of the Mangueira Samba school in Rio De Janeiro. Put this workshop on your schedule.
On Sunday after Samba, from 3 to 4 pm will be easy, fun folk dance mixers that anyone can do. These are suitable for all types of dancers. No learning required.
After the folk dance mixers, stay for a ballroom dance class and dancing from 4 to 6 pm with Ray and Eileen from Imperial Dance Studio. After ballroom dancing you will have an hour of Lindy Swing with a lesson and dancing.
Plan to end your Festival with a meditative experience in the non-judgemental, spiritual dance of Sacred Groove starting at 7 pm.
Prices vary by session and day. You can get a discounted Gainesville Dance Festival Pass for the entire weekend for only $25 here, if purchased by Wednesday March 28.
Also this weekend, at their normal locations are International Folk and Contra dancing.
In April there are a bunch of beginner classes starting up via Santa Fe College Community Education. Tell your friends this is the best time to start. Sign up at
