Hello Gainesville Ocala Social Dancers,
The year is winding down quietly.
International Folk Dancing tonight, Friday at Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 4225 NW 34 Street, 8 to 11 pm, only $3. Since there is not much dancing going on, why not give this a try. Beginners get there at 8 pm. International Folk Dancing is a lot of fun.
Saturday, December 22 is the darkest day of the year, and I have held a number of Darkest Day of the Year Swing Dances. Before the days start getting longer, this year join Ray and Eileen for a Ballroom Dance Party at By Ear Musician, 8 to 10:30, $10.
Andrea is starting up a beginner's Tango class (pham.andrea@gmail.com) and David and Thuy have beginning Tango lessons on Tuesdays for free at 7:30 downtown (david.chayes@gmail.com). Tango is a great addition to your dancing repertoire. Take advantage of these opportunities.
January 7 we will be starting up Israeli Dancing at B'nai Israel. There will be Israeli Partner Dances later in the evening and you should consider joining us for them, even if you skip the circle dances. Israeli Partner Dances are great fun.
At the end of January, beginning of February we will have some beginning classes you can take via Santa Fe College Community Education. The classes will be Swing 101, Israeli 101, Beginning Line Dancing and Intermediate Line Dancing.
Am still looking for a place to do Swing and Hustle on Sunday nights.
