Susan Baird Candidate for Alachua County Commission District 4

Dear Alachua County Voter,

Permit me to introduce myself; I am Susan Baird running for the Alachua County Commission, District 4. As an experienced businesswoman, I know that we can do a better job of managing our local government than what is being done under the current board.

Our County is experiencing many serious problems that are the direct result of years of mismanagement and misappropriation. My opponent, the incumbent, has not provided our County's citizens with the adequate representation we all deserve.

I want to see significant changes that include:

· Focusing on reducing crushing taxation  Alachua County is the highest taxed county in the state. High taxes are hurting individuals and businesses.

· Concentrating on increasing jobs  Citizens are suffering from excessive regulation limiting businesses. New businesses create jobs and broaden the tax base.

· Dispensing with career politicians and prioritize spending  Public safety (police and fire) and infrastructure need funding but pet projects need to be eliminated!
