Hello Gainesville Ocala Social Dancers,
Tonight, Friday you can do back to back sessions at 308 West. First, Kay teaches Bolero from 6:30 to 7:30 with an opportunity to practice afterwards until 8. All levels welcome. This is a small class. Whether you are a beginner or advanced dancer, Kay will give you something worthwhile for you to work on.
At 8 pm join UF Tango Club at 308 West for Burcin's excellent tango class, well suited to beginners and more experienced dancers. The community is invited to attend for only $5. The back room will be available for those that just want to dance or do something else while the class is going on in the big room. Come out for a casual evening of tango that will be fun for everyone.
Also Friday night, at the Boltin Center at 8 pm, Swing and Sway has their first dance of the year with the "electrifying" Mr. October.
Saturday is Maria Alvarez' monthly ballroom dance at Imperial Dance Studio.
Also Saturday night Tango Pavadita holds the first of their two monthly milonga's. Come early at 8 pm to help set up, enjoy the music and practice a little before the dancing starts at 9 pm, at 308 West.
Sunday evening Swing dancing starts at 6 pm. At class we mentioned we would start at 7, but we are going to start at 6 after all. One price for the whole night and everyone is welcome for all the sessions. From 6 to 7 the emphasis will be on beginners. From 7 to 8:30 on more experienced. From 8:30 to 9:30 we will do Hustle!

Tuesday night join us at 308 West at 7:30 pm for Israeli Dancing in the big room. At 9 pm we do Israeli Partner Dances, which are really fun. Only $5 per family. Free if you paid full price for swing on Sunday night.
Richard is teaching Rumba and Cha Cha this month on Tuesdays at the Boltin Center.
Josh's 3rd Wednesday of the month January Jam Out West Coast Swing dance is coming up January 18 at 308 West at 8 pm.
During the week, on Wednesday you can learn and dance Tango with Elke and Nick from 5:30 to 7 at 308 West (nhr@ufl.edu), and at 7:30 with David and Thuy in a downtown private home, david.chayes@gmail.com.

When Josh told me he was going to make last Saturday's dance a fundraiser for Gary and Judi, I thought that would be a nice jester, but the $300 he might raise is not going to go far.
You all deserve a special thank you. You came from all over North Florida to support Gary and Judi. You showed that you are a community that cares. You raised $3,000+, which is a lot more than a gesture.
