Hello {!firstname_fix} and Gainesville Ocala Social Dancers,
Argentine Tango is both the easiest and most difficult of dances. Because Tango is so slow and the basic steps so simple, you can start navigating the dance floor your very first day. Because the interaction can be so sophisticated in close embrace, the challenges are endless. You have a bunch of great options to learn Argentine Tango, which will help all your dancing. Take advantage.
Come out tonight Friday June 22 for three dance sessions at 308 West, starting with Kay's Samba class from 7:30 to 8:30, followed immediately by casual Argentine Tango practice and dancing and at 10:30 a Salsa and Latin Dance Social until 2 am. Friday Tango is free for those attending Kay's class, those staying for the Salsa social, students and ALL U CAN DANCE members, otherwise just $5.
You can also go to Swing and Sway tonight at the Boltin Center from 8 to 11.
Saturday night come out for our Longest Day of the Year All U Can Swing Dance Social. Kathie reminded me her first dance was the Longest Day of the Year Dance three years ago. There will be a Lindy Swing lesson from 7:30 to 8:30 with dancing until 11. The music will be a mix with at least half suitable for West Coast Swing. Free for ALL U CAN DANCE members.
Also Saturday night is a Ballroom Dance at By Ear Musician with Ray and Eileen.
Sunday we need men at 308 West to join us for Contra 101 at 5 pm and Swing 101 at 6 pm. Stay afterwards for Swing for people with some experience and then Hustle! Free for ALL U CAN DANCE members.
Join Nick and a nice group for Argentine Tango 101 from 6 to 7:30 in the small room. All levels welcome. Just $5 in June, $3 for students, free for ALL U CAN DANCE members.
David moved his Tango class to Tuesdays at 7:30, only a few blocks from 308 West. After Nick's class, go over to David's for free Tango practice. david.chayes@gmail.com
Or for variety, after Nick's class on Tuesdays, also only a few blocks away, go over to Richard's class, this month on Cha Cha, at the Boltin Center.
Also on Tuesdays Ray teaches Ballroom Dancing at 308 West at 7:45 followed by social dancing around 8:45.
Wednesday Judi teaches Two Step and then West Coast Swing from 7 to 10.
Thursday join Ray and Eileen for Hustle specialty class.

Next Saturday, June 30 is Chad Big Daddy's Bodacious Summer Swing Thing.

Article: Taking Care of the Facility at 308 West
You can help your dance teachers by helping to set up and put things away before and after your dance sessions.
Here are some guidelines:
1. Big Room Dance Floor: you should leave the dance floor clear unless you know the next group needs the room arranged some other way. You should sweep the dance floor before and after your session.
2. Trash: you should empty the trash when you leave, put in new trash bags and take the trash with you.
3. AC: when you arrive you can put the AC on 70. When you leave put the AC up to 80. Only use the buttons on the outside of the case to change the AC. Do not open the AC and mess with the program.
4. Upstairs Stairwell Door: you should leave the upstairs stairwell door shut and unlocked, so people can get in and so that the AC does not go down the stairs.
5. Chairs, Small Tables and Lamps: you should leave chairs, tables and lamps nicely arranged in the foyer and front two rooms so people can use them.
6. Water, Bottles and Cups: you should bring your own water bottles to be eco-friendly. Do put out a pitcher of water, with cups and a marker so people can write their names on the cups, and of course, put away after your session.
7. Paper Towels, Toilet, Paper and Soap: you should replenish the bathrooms as needed. Supplies are in the small storage room.
8. Carpeted Area: you should vacuum the carpeted area as needed, before and after your session.
9. Lights: shut off all lights when you leave.
10. Transition Between Classes: the studio and parking area has limited accomodations. Be aware of the transition between sessions and accomodate the people before and after you by freeing up space as needed.
