Gainesville Ocala Swing and Social Dance Newsletter 2013-02-21
Hello Gainesville Ocala Social Dancers,
Today Thursday is Senior Line Dancing with Andy at the Senior Center for beginners at 11:30 and intermediate at 12:30.
Thursday evening at Gainesville High School is Israeli Dancing 101 at 6 pm and Super Simple Swing 101 with Andy at 7:10 pm. Swing 101ers can come early and join us for Israeli dancing. Guest leaders join us for Swing 101 to help out. Come thru the GHS main entrance and all the way to the left. Two weeks left for each class. To register call 352-395-5193.
I will be out of town for most of March. In April, we will be offering Super Simple Swing 101 again and Beginning West Coast Swing via Santa Fe College Community Education. Super Simple Swing 101 is for novice dancers and Beginning West Coast Swing is for anyone with some dance experience.
Also regular Thursday dancing includes: at the Boltin Center, Bob Rogers teaches Crash Course Ballroom and Richard teaches beginning East Coast Swing. Ray and Eileen's Quick Step class continues at By Ear Musician. UF Argentine Tango club has a lesson and dancing at Corry Village.
Friday Steve Rothstein hosts a Pot Luck Spring Benefit Dance. The International Folk Dancers also meet Friday. UF Swing Club has their regular weekly session at the UTC.
Saturday night is Ray and Eileen's Ballroom Dance Party.
Check the calendar for details and dancing Monday thru Wednesday next week.
Andrea is starting a new Introduction to Argentine Tango for Beginners 6-week series on Monday nights starting March 11 from 7 to 8:15 pm for only $60, $40 for students. No partner needed as they rotate partners. This is a great opportunity for you to get an introduction to Tango and the only one available on the horizon.
