Israeli and English Dancing Tonight, Contra Next Week, Ballroom Dance Practice, IndepenDance

Hello Gainesville Ocala Israeli and Folk Dancers,

Tonight is the fourth and last night of the 4-Week Beginner Israeli Dancing run through Santa Fe College. If you missed prior weeks you can still join us. We will continue Israeli Dancing at the same times after this series ends.

Also on Monday nights is English Country Dancing at 308 West. This is an easy dance that everyone can do, with a live band and nice people.

There is Line Dancing on Tuesday nights at the Eagles with Sheila Ebert.

On Fridays join the International Folk Dancers. Early in the evening they do easy dances that anyone can keep up with.

The next two Fridays, July 1 and 8, for only $5, we will be having ballroom dance practice at 308 West from 6:30 to 8. This will be mainly Waltz, probably some Cha Cha and possibly some other dances to give us a chance to practice what Kay Picart taught. You can come even if you did not attend Kay's classes. Kay will be resuming on July 15 with Foxtrot and July 22 with Rumba.

Starting July 2, with IndepenDance, Josh Angel will be hosting the first Saturday Night of the month dance, which will now be primarily West Coast Swing.

Lindy Swing and Hustle! resume Sunday July 3 at 7 pm. Newcomers welcome. If you come on Sunday, Monday Israeli Dancing is free.

Happy Dancing,
Andy

Gainesville Engilsh Country Dancing July 4

Dear Dancers,

Don't forget we dance EVERY Monday evening so that you are never in doubt. This Monday, and the next Monday, July 4! Come end your holiday weekend with a bang!!

Come out and practice for the Gainesville Saturday dance in July. This Monday we will be repeating some great dances from last week and two new dances. Well actually, we'll be reintroducing "Picking Up Sticks" a great three couple dance that we did alot with Tara--come try another type of hey---a sheepskin hey!!! And coming on the 4th will be two more very exciting new dances! (an English tango~~!)

English dancing is easy on your feet; you move on your own volition--so those who get dizzy or have shoulder issues should be comfortable. Most connections are made with your eyes and you mirror your partner's moves. Come give it a try! No special clothing required.

308 West University (next to the Seagal building; we're on the second floor; park underneath)

Hello Gainesville Ocala Social Dancers,

The next few days are loaded with high quality dancing, starting tonight Thursday with Christian's growing Balboa class. Balbao is kind of like the Tango of Swing.

Friday night Kay's excellent Ballroom Waltz class continues. You can still come even if you missed the first week, but you do need to know how to dance.

After Kay's class, from 7:30 to 8:00, everyone is invited for a free half hour of ballroom style waltz.

Afterwards join the UF Tango Club at 308 West for the rest of Friday night.

This is a regional Tango weekend with guests expected from all over North Florida. Saturday afternoon Frederico and Victoria from Tampa are teaching an Argentine Tango Workshop and Saturday night is Tango Pavadita's milonga. Sunday morning Victoria will hold a Tango Flex session followed by Tango Pavadita brunch.

After the Tango brunch on Sunday, the talented Patti Jobst is visiting us to teach a West Coast Swing Workshop, followed by a West Coast Swing Dance hosted by Josh Angel.

There will be no Lindy and Hustle this Sunday. They will resume Sunday 7/03.

If you were in the Two Left Feet class or would like to learn to Swing dance, join our Slow Lindy Swing class on Sundays at 7 resuming in July.

Join Richard for East Coast Swing on Tuesday nights at 7 at the Boltin Center.

Join Andrea Pham for a new beginner series for Argentine Tango. pham.andrea@gmail.com

Israeli Dancing Tonight, Special Ballroom and Tango

Hello Gainesville Ocala Israeli and Folk Dancers,

Tonight is the last night of the 4-Week Beginner Israeli Dancing run through Santa Fe College. If you missed prior weeks you can still join us. We of course well continue to dance on Monday nights when this series ends.

If Israeli Dancing is too much running around for you, try English Country Dancing on Monday at 308 West.

Sandi is no longer running Line Dancing on Tuesday nights at the Eagles, so come to Israeli or English on Mondays. If you can Line Dance, you can Israeli Dance. If Fridays are better for you, join the International Folk Dancers.

Andrea Pham is starting a new 6-Week Beginning Argentine Tango series this Wednesday. If you have ever had an interest in Argentine Tango, this is the best time to start, with a group of others at the same level as you. pham.andrea@gmail.com

Caroline Picart is teaching intermediate to advanced ballroom dancing on some Friday nights at 308 West. If you know how to dance and want to improve your technique, Ky can help you get that ballroom dancing look. Kay is a real professional and US Open Champion who will give you individual feedback in a group class. cjpicart@gmail.com

No Lindy Swing next Sunday. Next weekend there is a Tango workshop on Saturday and a West Coast Swing workshop on Sunday with visiting guest instructors. Check the social dance newsletter for details.

Happy Dancing,
Andy
