Balboa is a swing dance with a very distinctive feel.
The feel is the chief reason people fall in love with it.
It is danced primarily in close embrace and its body lead
allows for great and subtle expressivity.

Article: Marrie Robinson Memorial Service

Marrie visited me the other day. I was so relieved to see her,
gave her a big hug and scolded her for scaring us. I noticed the
neighborhood looked a little unfamiliar and realized I was dreaming.

From Marilyn Escue tangogainesville@gmail.com

Open invitation....

Please DO forward this message and tell anyone who comes to mind....especially those of you with a list of Marrie's friends or who
know of friends who might be relying on you to invite them.

This is an invitation to celebrate the life of our friend and loved one, Marrie Robinson, and to commemorate her passing. First,
about the church service, from the Gainesville Sun, then an invitation for more time together in Marrie's honor:

Gainesville Sun:

Marrie Robinson, age 51, passed away on October 14, 2009. She is survived by two daughters, Kachiri and Mishani Robinson. She was a
great asset to the Dance community, Spiritual community and a devoted friend and mother. We lost a loved one, but God gained an
amazing angel.

A service will be held for her at 4:00 pm on Saturday, November 7, at Unity Church, located at 8801 NW 39th Avenue (For further
information, contact Kachiri at 352-514-7167).

Following the service at Unity, Kachiri and the family and I invite you to come together with the several communities that know and
love Marrie in a celebrative potluck dinner with music and dancing, at the home (5 minutes away) of Marilyn Escue. Please make it
easy on yourself in either bringing a dish or drink (alcohol is ok), or just come on if you didn't know about bringing something.
Kachiri requests that we join in celebration of Marrie's life.

So after the service, or whatever else you might need to do beforehand, come on over around 5:30ish, to 10514 NW 25th Pl., home of
Marilyn Escue, 352-332-6556.

Here are directions from Unity, on 39th.
- Go left or West across I-75 and downhill to 98th Street.
- Turn left, tracking in front of Meadowbrook Golf Course to the end of the fence.
- Look on the right for 25th Place and sign Hills of Santa Fe.
- Go wayyyy down the street to a mailbox numbered 10514, the color of ripe watermelon. - - Green house.
- Parking is fine on the cul de sac right/left beyond the house or anywhere on 25th Place.

If you got this far, and didn't remember to bring something, just park the car. We will take care of you. It is your turn. Here is
the potluck address and phone again: 10514 NW 25 Place, 332-6556. Call me about anything.

Article: Have Faith and a Miracle Will Happen

I do tango to dance close embrace. Close embrace Argentine
tango is difficult because you communicate through subtle
movements of your body and there is no room for error.

After my first three years, I could not take one step forward.
That is discouraging.

One lady has been trying for ten years and seemed like she
would never be able to do it.

The other day I was in my tango class. The teacher put on a
song and we danced. It was like a miracle. We were dancing.

For many of us, the process is slower than we like, sometimes
imperceptibly slow. Your brain is quietly making adjustments.
Have faith and a miracle will happen.
