When state legislators moved to slash funding for Florida Forever -- one of our state’s most important tools for protecting wildlife and habitat -- Defenders activists took action. In just a short time, more than 4,500 caring people like you sent messages to Governor Charlie Crist urging him to safeguard funding for this vital conservation program.
On Tuesday January 27th, Governor Crist acted on those concerns by vetoing potentially disastrous cuts to the Florida Forever program that had been approved by the state legislature.
