Gainesville Lindy Exchange, Tampa Bay Classic, Kay Ballroom Waltz, Salsa Bachata Festival

Hello Gainesville Ocala Social Dancers,
 
Thanks to all those that came to the swing dance on Saturday night. Our community is small enough that each person counts. We only have social dancing in town because you support it.
 
This newsletter is out early so you can make plans to attend the Gainesville Lindy Exchange, the Tampa Bay Classic and the North Florida Salsa and Bachata Festival. They run this Thursday through Sunday. Looks like the big dance for the Gainesville Lindy Exchange is Saturday night at the Boltin Center. All Gainesville swing dancers should come out for this Saturday night dance. If you do not know Lindy, but you know West Coast or East Coast Swing you should be able to dance. Swing is swing.

Friday evening from 6:30 to 7:30 Kay Picart teaches Ballroom Waltz. This is about the best and gentlest instruction you can get in a group class. Occasionally we bring in professional dancers for workshops. Sometimes we travel to workshops like the Tampa Bay Classic to get instruction from professional dancers. Right here in Gainesville, we have our own professional in Kay, who is the equal of any of these others that we pay a lot of money to go see. Kay's ballroom waltz class is for all levels, beginners to advance. Take advantage while Kay is in town.
 
Lindy Swing Dancing 101 continues with class 3 of 4 this Sunday night from 6 to 7 pm. You can still join this class. Just show up.
 
Lindy Swing and Hustle! for people with some dance experience is immediately afterwards, 7 to 8:30 swing and 8:30 to 9:30 hustle. Anyone coming to the class at 7 is welcome to come early to the beginners class at 6 for no charge.
 
On Sunday November 27 mark your calendars for our Swing 101 graduation party and Thanksgiving Swinging Soul Dance Party.
 
There is lots of other dancing. Be sure to check the schedule. To be quick about it, Friday is UF Tango and Swing and Sway. Saturday is Maria's Ballroom Dance and Tango Pavadita's Milonga. Tuesday is Richard's East Coast. Wednesday is Josh's monthly mid-week West Coast Swing dance.

Article: Joke - A lawyer and a car accident
 
A very successful attorney parked his brand new Lexus in front of his office, ready to show it off to his colleagues.
 
As he was getting out, a truck came along too closely and completely tore off the driver's door.
 
Fortunately, a cop in a police car was close enough to see the accident and pulled up behind the Lexus with his lights flashing.
 
Before the cop had a chance to ask any questions, the attorney started screaming hysterically about how his Lexus, which he had just purchased the day before, was completely ruined and would never be the same, no matter how any car body shop tried to make it new again.
 
After the lawyer finally wound down from his rant, the cop shook his head in disbelief. "I can't believe how materialistic you lawyers are," he said. "You are so focused on your possessions that you neglect the most important things in life."
 
"How can you say such a thing?" asked the lawyer.
 
The cop replied, "Don't you even realize that your left arm is missing? It was severed when the truck hit you!"
