Folkdancers of Gainesville united!

When Gainesville folkdancers dance & party, they aren't kidding around. It's a wonderful experience. At the end of 2012, in November, we all began by dancing around the tables, chairs & people trying to digest their meal at the local Greek restaurant, Sandy's. Of course the local Greek group, Embros led by this father & daughter team of Leo & Eleni Polopolus gave us the great sounds of his clarinet & her soprano voice. I'm always amazed by electronic violin of Anne & now David on bouzouki. They're a very unique sound so come join us next time (every 3 months or so). Check them out online at http://www.embrosorchestra.com/bios.html

Anyway, sitting down for some fresh made moussaka & pastitsio doesn't put a damper on our enthusiasm. Those participating, going around the table were Linda, Mireille, Julieta, John, Juanita, Nancy, Arlene & of course me….who took the picture?....Jualene!

So we move on to Dec 31,2012 with Jualene bringing us over to her magnificent home for the all nighter (until 12:15 actually) of food, fun, music, dancing, lots of chit-chat & some serious talk about stuff! We begin that one fairly early & with the singing & toasting to Auld Lang Syne at midnight we smilingly welcome in the New Year. What more can you ask? Pictured in the group are Juanita & husband, Linda, Arlene, Diane & Max, Mireille, Nancy, Jan, June, Margaret. Down on the floor are me, Jualene, Leslie, Barbara & Julieta. Those not quite making it to the midnight hour photo were John, Joyce D, Ruth, Joyce S & Grace.

See you all at the Bata-Ercument President's Weekend camp….a bunch of us from Gainesville are looking forward to the 3 nights & days of folkdance interaction.
