English Country Dancing Come dance the FDR dance

Dear Dancers,

New dancers, experienced dancers--come join us and have a fun Monday evening with beautiful live music by Hoggetowne Fancy. We are doing higher level dances with newcomers and everyone is doing great and enjoying all the dances with very little teaching.

The first three couples who came last week got to do the FDR dance. What's that?  It's Crazy Marie a dance by Sol Weber--the Flirtation, Denial and Reconciliation Dance.  First the women snub the men, then the men snub the women, then they gypsy to smile again, then time to meet the neighbors. Such drama in some of these English dances!! We'll try to do it again this week.  We also did Hazelfern Place, the dance from the video in the email last week.  This week we will repeat the requested dances as well as some new ones.

Dances done last week were:  (those starred were requested by dancers to do again this week)

The Florida English Dance weekend is coming soon, in October.  Please sign up for an enjoyable weekend.  Since this is the only one in Florida it is important that the dance community support those who put so much work into creating such an event in our backyard.  It's also a bargain.  The price of $140 (if double room) includes 2 nights lodging in a beautiful historic inn, dancing Friday evening, Saturday morning, afternoon, and evening, and Sunday morning, 2 wonderful continental breakfasts (fresh Belgian waffles), and Saturday lunch.  You will dance to the beautiful music of Full Circle and be led by David Millstone, an experienced caller who will call traditional English dances, both old and new.  You get to dance in the beautiful ballroom!!
