English Country Dance

Dear Dancers,

In addition to the dances which were starred last week, Randy has a couple of new ones prepared inlcuding "The Belle of Amhurst".  It's a beautiful 3 couple dance written by Gary Roodman for Robin Hayden who you may have danced with at Sebring a couple of years ago.
Everyone is welcome; no experience necessary. We have a lesson at 6:45--but come whenever you can make it. We have live music by Hoggetowne Fancy--they played for us at Florida Folk Festival. Come listen to Bob Reynierson's baroque instruments, Isabel on accordian, John on recorder, Dave on percussion and maybe a fiddler!

There will be another English Performance done in Micanopy at 10 am on Saturday, October 29.  Please let us know if you are interested in participating in the performance.  In order to participate you should regularly attend Monday night dances and have a costume similar to the ones seen in our Florida Folk Festival performance.  We will be having a couple of special practices, but in order to know the dances without calling, as well as to know English Country Dance style points, performers will need the weekly sessions.  We will incorporate the dances into our weekly Monday night dances.   The stage is small, so not every performer will be able to participate in each dance, depending on how many want to participate.
